TEXAS HORSEMEN REACH AGREEMENT WITH ADW FIRM

November 19, 2008 – An agreement between TrackNet and the Texas Horsemen’s Partnership will allow the state’s racetrack to send their signals to two major account-wagering platforms.

TrackNet is a partnership between Churchill Downs Inc. and Magna Entertainment Corp, two racetrack operators that also operate the XpressBet and Twinspires.com account wagering platforms, respectively. Also, Magna owns the state’s largest track, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie.

The agreement runs through December 31, 2010. Under its terms, races from Texas tracks will be available on XpressBet and Twinspires. Lone Star Park general manager Drew Shubeck told Daily Racing Form that the rights to the live television broadcast will be held by HorseRacing TV, a television network that is also jointly owned by Magna and Churchill.

Texas Horsemen’s Partnership executive director Tommy Azopardi said the current agreement will generate increased revenues for purses, but he declined to provide details.
