CHALLENGE NIGHT PICK 4 SETS RECORD

November 2, 2009 - A Los Alamitos record pool for the late Pick Four of $92,25 was set on October 31, 2009 during the Bank of America Racing Challenge Night. The late Pick Four sequence included the runnings of the Bayer Legend Derby Challenge Championship (G1), Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1), Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1), and the Fort Dodge Starter Allowance Challenge.

The previous Los Alamitos record pool for the late Pick Four of $90,423 was set back on April 14, 2007. 

The early Pick Four on Bank of America Racing Challenge night also had tremendous interest from Pick Four players nationwide. The pool for the first four races that comprise the early Pick Four was $117,630. The figure is the 24th highest in Los Alamitos history and the 6th highest at Los Alamitos this year.

Racing continues at Los Alamitos on Thursday, November 5 with an eight race program starting at 5:35 p.m. The weekend action will feature the running of the $1,000,000 Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) on Saturday, November 7. The Super Derby is the richest Quarter Horse derby since 1983.
