DASH TA FAME MOVES TO CALIFORNIA

November 5, 2009 - Dash Ta Fame, a leading sire of both American Quarter Horse racing and barrel performers will stand the 2010 season at Smart Ranches near Temecula, California. His fee will be $6,500.

"We would like to thank Mac and Janis Murray for the outstanding job they have done over the past 16 years with Dash Ta Fame," owner Bob Burt said.

Owned by Bob and Darian Burt of Sandy, Utah, the 1989 son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash, has stood his entire career at MJ Farms, first in Utah then in New Mexico.

Dash Ta Fame won or placed in 11 of 13 career starts to 3, earning $290,812. He won the Golden State Futurity (G1), El Primero Del Ano Derby (G1) and Vandys Flash Handicap (G3). He was second in the Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) and third in the QHBC Championship Classic (G1).

In the stallion barn, Dash Ta Fame has been among the leading race sires for many years. From 15 crops to race he has 76 stakes winners, 106 stakes-placed, 568 winners with earnings in excess of $15.2 million. His foals have average race earnings per starter of $14,700.

Among his leading race earners are grade 1 winner Five Bar Molly ($187,109) and restricted grade 1 winners Gun Battle ($668,781), Ongoing Ta Fame ($644,746), Kendall Jackson ($408,749), Uno Menudo ($242,511), Famous Lane ($216,867), Famous Phoebe ($189,272), etc. He is also the sire of stakes winners Dash Ta Moon ($352,305), Jake Can Dash ($255,289), Eddie Stinson ($200,016), etc.

Dash Ta Fame is the #1 barrel racing sire in the nations with earnings in excess of $5 million. With more than $500,000 in 2009 earnings the chestnut stallion is on the way to his seventh consecutive leading barrel racing sire title.
He is also establishing himself as both a broodmare sire in the racing and barrel industries.
