RARE NEWS GETS FIRST STAKES WINNER

The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal, August 14, 2009 - The First Down Dash stallion Rare News got his first stakes winner when Little Love Affair won the August 7 North Dakota Bred Futurity (R). Racing for James Fleming, Little Love Affair won by 1 1/2 lengths in the 350-yard race, earning a time of :18.460. A winner of four of five starts, Little Love Affair has earned $10,720.

Rare News is a 10-year-old stallion out of the Magical Mile (TB) mare Shiney Miles. He won two races and finished second three times in 23 starts, and earned $43,758. He was a finalist in the Grade 1 2001 Kindergarten and Governor's Cup futurities.

From three crops, Rare News has sired eight winners from 16 starters that have earned $55,283.

Rare News is owned by Michael and Teri Dinnell of St. Ignatius, Montana, and stands at their Dinnell Circle D Horses.
