POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

ABOUT AQHPAC

PACs, the current method of campaign financing, are a way for individuals to pool resources to make a greater impact. A PAC, like AQHPac, prevents old-line special interests from dominating the political system. Well-intentioned but misguided groups are influencing legislators and becoming increasingly more successful at passing legislation that damages the horse industry. Many of these groups are well funded and have PACs.

WHY AQHPAC?

Educating members of Congress on the size and scope of the American Quarter Horse industry is crucial to achieving our legislative goals. Your Association has a powerful voice in Washington, D.C., and we want to make sure it remains strong and continues to grow.

STEEL DUST SOCIETY

The Steel Dust Society represents the top level of contributors to AQHPac and all proceeds from Society membership will go to ensure the best interest of American Quarter Horse owners are heard by legislators locally and in Washington, D.C. Founding membership is limited to 400, and your membership will show that you're interested in protecting and preserving the rights of American Quarter Horse owners.

Foaled in Kentucky, Steel Dust came to Texas as a yearling in 1844.His progeny and his legend spread as cowboys drove lLonghorns up the trails from Texas and opened the Great Plains to ranching. The name Steel Dust came to identify an entire breed of horse; they were called "Steeldusts," and they were the cowboy's favorite kind. They were heavy-muscled horses, marked with small ears, a big jaw, remarkable intelligence and lightning speed up to a quarter of a mile. Steel Dust was an American Quarter Horse. He and his kind would achieve fame every bit as magnificent as that of the mythical Pegasus.

As a member of the Steel Dust Society, you'll be joining an elite group of members dedicated to a common cause. Being a founding member of the Steel Dust Society also entitles you to exclusive benefits, such as:

  • Invitation to VIP parties / events
  • Invitation to annual VIP function in Washington, D.C.
  • Recognition in AQHA publications as a Steel Dust Society member
  • Regular updates on AQHPac progress and activities
  • Special recognition at AQHA functions
  • Special lapel pin signifying your membership

You may become a founding member of the Steel Dust Society by making a $1,000 contribution or more to AQHPac.
