Stallions Still Available in Oklahoma Service Auction

Oklahoma Stallion Service Auction has stallions available.

January 30, 2012

OQHRA

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association's Online Stallion Service Auction still has a few stallions available. To see the available services, visit http://www.oqhrastallionauction.com/.

Bidding is easy, no cost to register, and you might pick up a really good deal. Your money works twice: it gets you the breeding and the purchase price goes to OQHRA to help with member services and scholarship programs.

Just call the OQHRA office at (405) 216-0440 if you have any problems and staff will help you make a purchase.

This is the first time the auction has been conducted online.

Each stallion breeding donor and each individual that purchases a breeding worth $500 or more will also receive a specially designed signature winter jacket identifying them as an OQHRA supporter. As in every previous year, buyers in the OQHRA auction pay no chute fees. The final price paid for the breeding will include any farm or chute fee in connection with that stallion. Buyers will be responsible for all charges for mare care, veterinary services, shipped semen, etc.

The stallion bonus for participating stallions has grown to $45,000 in 2012. To be eligible for the stallion bonus, a donated stallion breeding must sell in this year's auction, and if an offspring from that stallion is the winner of the 2012 Oklahoma Futurity in March at Remington Park, that stallion will be eligible for a bonus of $5,000 per year for each consecutive year his breeding was sold in the OQHRA Stallion Service Auction program.

This annual auction is an important source of funds used by OQHRA for lobbying, racing related youth scholarships, and marketing and promotion of the Quarter Horse Racing industry in Oklahoma.
