The American Quarter Horse Journal, November 17, 2008 – On Tuesday, the American Quarter Horse Association will join forces with the United States Dressage Foundation to present a freestyle reining and dressage demonstration known as Pas de Deux.
Pas de Deux combines the elegance and impact of dressage musical freestyle with the added element of two horses and riders performing together. Movements and figures are choreographed to meet the technical requirements of the particular level with music chosen to highlight the pair.
Join AQHA and the United States Dressage Federation for a Pas de Deux performance showcasing the combined beauty of dressage and the elegance of reining, Tuesday, November 18 during the evening performance. The American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse exhibitors around the world who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to earn the right to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English, and western disciplines. More than 3,400 entries from the United States, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom competed at this year’s event, November 7-22. This is the 33rd year for the AQHA World Show to be held in Oklahoma City.
