If you’ve ever uttered the word “horse,” QuarterFest is the place for you to be the first weekend in May. Everyone from the “horse crazy” of all ages to those who are “horse poor” – they’ve got one or more horses in their barn – will have a ball at QuarterFest: A Celebration of the American Quarter Horse May 1-3, on the grounds of the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Here is a list of the many QuarterFest activities that will be available to everyone! You don’t need to bring a horse, just come for the fun and bring the family. Your general-admission ticket gives you access to all this:
- The Kids Corral where kids of all ages can test-drive an American Quarter Horse, participate in a number of hands-on equine-related activities and games, and learn how to be more “green” in their horse-related behavior.
- Clinics, demonstrations, seminars and special events on everything from ranch roping to colt starting, adult and youth horsemanship to horse camping, and reining to negotiating trail obstacles.
- A fashion show featuring boots, jeans and bling from AQHA Corporate Partners Wrangler, Justin and Montana Silversmiths.
- A trade show with clothing, tack and horse gadgets galore.
- If you’re “green,” then the conservation area is for you: help build a bridge, learn about trail and campground design and the National Park Service’s Tread Lightly program, and gather information on how to make your home and barn more environmentally friendly.
For an additional charge, you certainly won’t want to miss the Extravaganza! If you’ve ever seen a horse in the pasture, then the two-hour choreographed QuarterFest Extravaganza on Friday and Saturday nights will leave you more connected to the horse than when you walked through the QuarterFest gates. We’re pulling out all of the stops to tell the story of the American Quarter Horse, and you’ll have to hold onto your seat – and your heart – because we’re going to rock your American Quarter Horse world!

QuarterFest is a three-day, education-packed celebration of the American Quarter Horse Association’s 68th anniversary where AQHA members and horse enthusiasts from around the world will gather in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, May 1-3 for fun, entertainment and festivities to honor the world’s most versatile horse – the American Quarter Horse.
