Juli Thorson, editor and associate publisher of Horse&Rider magazine will be available to chat about career options for young people – or any other topic that presents itself.
Juli, an AQHA member who hails from Troy, Idaho, is also author of the Horse Talk blog and the award-winning book “Win With Bob Avila.” She was raised in a farming and ranching family and grew up showing horses extensively. Upon graduating from the University of North Dakota, Juli joined the staff of the Appaloosa breed journal. She has also worked for The Lariat, California Horse Review, In Stride, Performance Horseman, Ride With Bob Avila and Western Horseman.
She owns, breeds and shows American Quarter Horses and has also showed Appaloosas and Paints to a high level. She enjoys trail riding and horse camping and is formerly an endurance rider.
Juli says one career achievement she is proud of is “winning multiple AQHA media awards for articles I’ve written on outstanding Quarter Horses and their owners.”
