The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal, June 16, 2009 – The AQHA Live Race Video project has finished a beta test period and is now available to the public.
Sponsored by The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal and the Bank of America Racing Challenge, this new service offers live streaming video from racetracks across the country. The tracks participating are Arapahoe Park, Beulah Park, Canterbury Park, Delta Downs Racetrack, Evangeline Downs, Fair Meadows at Tulsa, Ruidoso Downs, Sam Houston Race Park, Sunland Park, Sunray Park, Turf Paradise, Will Rogers Downs, Wyoming Downs, Yavapai Downs and Zia Park. More tracks are expected to sign up soon.
Racing fans around the world can subscribe to the service and watch live American Quarter Horse racing in one place, and will soon be able to access archived races as well. The subscription service will charge as little as $14.95 per month with a one-year agreement. Sign up at www.aqha.com/racingstream.
Subscribers see actual live video from the racetracks, including post parade and racing action. It will feel like you’re watching a monitor in the club house of your favorite track, but the action will be right on your computer from anywhere there’s Internet access.
“This service allows horsemen and race fans to stay connected to American Quarter Horse racing wherever they are,” said Don Treadway Jr., AQHA Executive Vice President. “Never before have so many American Quarter Horse races been available in one place.”
The race video is only available when tracks are running. A schedule is available on the Web site and includes race days and post times for each track. Only tracks that are currently conducting an American Quarter Horse meet are included on the menu. The lineup will change throughout the year as tracks open and close their meets.
