WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES TICKETS OFFERED TO AQHA MEMBERS EARLY

The American Quarter Horse Journal, September 17, 2009 – Beginning September 21, members of the American Quarter Horse Association will have two days to purchase a limited quantity of tickets to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, September 25-October 10, 2010, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

This opportunity comes as a direct result of AQHA’s sponsorship of the World Equestrian Games. Early ticket sales begin at noon EST September 21 and closes at midnight EST September 23. The tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and sales will be limited to online purchasing only – no phone or mail orders.

The Web site for early purchasing is www.aqha.com/weg. Members must have their AQHA member ID and PIN to access this exclusive ticketing site. If you're still having trouble accessing the special Ticketmaster site with your AQHA ID and PIN, please call AQHA's friendly customer service at (806) 376-4811 and we'll be glad to help you!

Each person will be limited to the purchase of six tickets per session; if a particular session is unavailable, members will have another opportunity to purchase tickets when they go on sale to the public at noon EST on September 25.

Once AQHA members log in, they will be taken to Ticketmaster's Web site. Prior to purchasing WEG tickets, AQHA members will need to create an account with Ticketmaster.

“Our members are important to us, and we wanted to be able to give them a window of time in which to purchase tickets before the general public,” says Don Treadway Jr., AQHA’s executive vice president. “The World Equestrian Games are exciting and people who go will be filled with great memories from this experience. It will be great to see many AQHA members attending the Games.”

Ticket sales – about 600,000 tickets, ranging in price from $25 to $150 each – open to the public September 25 and can be purchased online at a different Web site.

Reining is priced at $95 for each of the four team competitions, as well as the qualifying competition and $120 for the individual final competition. With the all-star lineup of horses and riders expected for the reining, and only 5,500 available seats, it’s expected that the reining tickets will be a precious commodity.
