AQHA's Ride Program began in 1997 and annually hosts more than 80 rides throughout the world. The Ride Program has connected thousands of horse people from all walks of life with the American Quarter Horse and has funded over $700,000 to many local charities and the American Quarter Horse Foundation. Over the past eight years, the AQHA Ride Program has seen some 49,000 plus horse enthusiasts saddle up on 740 AQHA trail rides. AQHA Afficialte rides are held in some of the most spectacular locations and exemplify AQHA's marketing theme "Discover your lifestyle."
To honor the efforts of AQHA Affiliates in offering quality recreational riding opportunities, AQHA is pleased to present the 2006 AQHA Affiliate Recreational Riding Awards. These awards are based on the number of recreational riding events held, board participation and support of the events, comments from the post-ride surveys and promptness in returning post-ride paperwork.
Each of the five winning affiliates receive a special plaque and a cash award of $250, $500, $1,000 or $1,500.

AQHA started the Early Bird Award in 2003 as a fun way to encourage affiliates to turn in paperwork for the Affiliate Management Workshop. Recipients of the Early Bird Award were the first to turn in the registration form and hotel/travel information forms for their affiliates. It has been so successful that we are once again recognizing two affiliates, one representing the show industry and one affiliate which represents the racing industry.
