AQHA RIDE PROGRAM

ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND

HOST AFFILIATE:  Maryland State Quarter Horse Association

DATE:  May 31 – June 1, 2008

LOCATION:  Patapsco Valley State Park, Ellicott City, MD

FEES: $95 per adult – includes Rides Saturday and Sunday, four meals and entertainment
$80 per youth 13 & under – includes Rides Saturday and Sunday, four meals and entertainment
$70 per adult – Saturday only (includes one Ride, two meals and entertainment)
$55 per youth 13 & under – Saturday only (includes one Ride, two meals and entertainment)
$60 per adult – Sunday only (includes one self-guided ride and two meals)
$45 per youth 13 & under – Sunday only (includes one self-guided ride and two meals) 
Ride is limited to 100 participants per day.                                  

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS/FEE:  Campsites available for $8 per site.

ITINERARY:  Join the MSQHA for their spring trail ride in which the League of Maryland Horsemen have generously allowed the use of their facility adjacent to the Patapsco Valley State Park. Participants will enjoy a murder mystery to solve during registration and dinner.

Saturday participants will begin collecting clues as they arrive. Throughout registration and lunch, you will try to figure out the “whodunit”. Following lunch, there will be a guided Ride lasting approximately three-hours. Dinner will be served along with more clues and chance to solve the mystery. There will be prizes for riders and the individual who solves the mystery.

Sunday begins with breakfast followed by a self-guided, self-paced ride through the Patapsco Valley State Park. The trails are marked and there will be volunteers available should you need assistance. Enjoy lunch once you return from the trails. After lunch, enjoy the trails or head home.

DIRECTIONS:  From Baltimore:  Take I-70 West to exit 83, Marriottsville Road, bearing right (north) onto Marriottsville Road.

From Washington:  Take Route 29 North to I-70 West, take exit 83, Marriottsville Road, bearing right (north) onto Marriottsville Road.

From Marriottsville Road at I-70:  Continue past the Route 99 (old Frederick Road) intersection, approximately 2.5 miles. Cross over the railroad tracks and the Patapsco River Bridge, making the first left onto Henryton Road. Travel uphill approximately .6 miles, and then turn right at the LOMH sign, following the long, winding driveway to the clubhouse.

STALLS AVAILABLE:  No

FACILITIES AVAILABLE:  Restrooms, water for horses, electric and water available.

HORSE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: Negative Coggins must be presented upon check-in.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  All AQHA Trail Rules apply, in addition to League of Maryland Horsemen Rules.
