The red roan stallion Invest N Vital Signs, owned by James and Debbie Glover of Bixby, Oklahoma, is known as the highest all-time money-earning western pleasure stallion, with $132,745 to date.
The Glovers would like to see him become the all-time leading sire of western pleasure money-earning foals.
To that end, they have announced the creation of the Invest N Vital Signs $200,000 AQHA World Show Bonus Program.
Beginning with the 2010 breeding season, foals sired by Invest N Vital Signs that show in the 2-year-old western pleasure class at the AQHA World Championship Show will be eligible. The program will pay a $200,000 bonus to the 2-year-old western pleasure world champion sired by Invest N Vital Signs. The bonus will be split between the owner and the trainer of the winning horse. There are no nomination fees, no special registration and no slots to buy.
Invest N Vital Signs will make an appearance on Stallion Avenue at the 2009 All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, where the program will be kicked off.
Invest N Vital Signs by Vested Pine is the second foal bred by the Glovers out of their legendary mare Vital Signs Are Good. In August 2007, he won the Equine Sports Medicine $250,000 2-Year-Old Maiden Western Pleasure Challenge at the Reichert Celebration. Following that win, the stallion won championships at the National Snaffle Bit Association World Championship Show and the Congress. At the 2007 World Show, Invest N Vital Signs won the reserve world championship in 2-year-old western pleasure. The Glovers’ daughter, Kristen (now Galyean), showed his dam to the 2007 World Show all-around amateur title.
The stallion stood to a limited book of mares in 2008 and continued his show career. The year included circuit championships at the Arizona Sun Circuit, Texas Classic and Redbud Spectacular, and wins at the Tom Powers and Southern Belle Futurities, the NSBA World Show and Congress.
“He’s so quiet and nice to be around,” Debbie Glover said. “You don’t even think about him being a stud, he’s so gentle. I would trust him with a child. And he has become a legendary show horse in his own right.
“We think this bonus program is the most exciting idea to come to the World Show in a while, and we look forward to paying $200,000 to the first Invest N Vital Signs world champion.”
Invest N Vital Signs will stand the 2010 season at Gumz Farms in Morganfield, Kentucky. He will be enrolled in the AQHA Incentive Fund, National Snaffle Bit Association Stallion Incentive and Kentucky Breeders Incentive. He is also listed with the Tom Powers and Southern Belle Futurity programs.
