The Minnesota State Fair Coleseum was full of poles, bridges and cones on Thursday, as hundreds of exhibitors ran through trail and western riding patterns. Elsewhere on the grounds folks got educated on pleasure driving and hunt seat equitation, competed in seed spitting, and closed the day with a trip to nearby Canterbury Park. Greyhound "Mouse," owned by Mallory Greiner of Indianola, Iowa, goes for a walk after a long morning working in the show office.	Zippos Goldunrod and owner Terina Pike of Madison, Wisconsin, warm up for their go in Novice Amateur Trail.

Karen Heintz of Pipestone, Minnesota, yesterday showed Streakin Tru Skip or "Louie" to success in the amateur geldings 3 & up class while her husband Marty showed Louie's full brother, Tru Skips Conclusion, or "Bob." Today she was selling her Pleasure Perfect custom-made shirts at her booth. She started the business because "I couldn't afford to buy what I wanted for what I could pay," she said. Now she and her three employees make more than 400 shirts per year that are shipped worldwide. "It's a lot of fun, and I've met a lotof people," she said. "But the most fun is being at the end of that lead shank."	Diane Foris and Sonnys Timely Zippo are first-timers at a Regional Experience. The pair travelled from Ashland, Wisconsin, with a group of eight other riders and their horses to give it a try. Foris bought the 5-year-old mare "Dustee" in-utero when she purchased her mother. The mare, still fairly new to the show scene, showed in trail.

Shell Lake, Wisconsin, resident Leah Keefe and her horse Dream Time Love work the gate in the Novice Youth Trail 14-18 class. Veterans of AQHA competition, Kockelman attended the Region 3 Experience last year and had so much fun she brought the other two along this year. Hauge runs Silver Bell Trophies in Zimmerman, and donates walk-trot trophies to shows across the state, including the Region 3 Experience. She has about 15 horses, from weanlings to broodmares, at her farm, and keeps several horses for friends. Kockelman runs "Cheryl's Rhinestone Cowgirl" custom show clothes, and also runs Echo Water Systems in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Tyler and Cody Meister hang out with Woods N Irons at their stalls. They are from Reedsburg, Wisconsin.	Gator the Corgi's persistent staring finally pays off as Elizabeth Witmar of Janesville, Wisconsin, passes along a nibble.

Professional Horsewoman Kim Huever showed her clinic audience where the shafts of a pleasure driving cart should rest when a horse is properly attired for the class.	K'Lee Sherbrooke of Lake Park, Minnesota, and A Choice Pine Chez, or "Zach," enjoy watermelon given out at the afternoon's watermelon social.

Caitlin Johnson of Lakeville, MInnesota, participates in the Region 3 Youth seed spitting contest fundraiser. The contest helped raise money for the group's year end goals.	Shannon Vroegh leads a well-attended clinic on hunt seat equitation. She began by discussing the proper seat, and suggested to find your proper stirrup length, drop the stirrup and let the leg hang loose. The bottom of the stirrup should be equal to the bottom of the ankle.

Golden Retriever puppy Josie is owned by the Economy family of Duluth, Minnesota.	18-year-old The Black Force and 6-year-old Nya Kearns of Greyslake, Illinois, were second in Small Fry Trail.
