REGION TWO EXPERIENCE

DAY TWO, SEPTEMBER 26, 2008

The weather has been beautiful in Rapid City - perfect for trail classes outside all day long and into the evening. The western riders started in the Coliseum Arena with more than 100 reiners to follow. Several exhibitors have taken advantage of seeing the local sights, including Mount Rushmore and the town of Deadwood up in the Black Hills. Comments on the show coverage? E-mail chamilton@aqha.org.

Abbi Kolstad, 10, and Zippos Story of Glasgow, Montana, compete in the novice youth trail.

Todd Iszler and his sons Trey and Christopher man the free lemonade and cookies Gator sponsored by the North Dakota Quarter Horse Association. The family is from Bismarck, North Dakota.

Megan Gross and Zip Along Sudden of Napoleon, North Dakota, compete in "first time" youth trail.

Region awards include Montana Silversmith buckles, Professional's Choice saddle pads, WeatherBeeta blankets and Farnam gift packs.

Exhibitors Tammy Merritt and Sherry Clemens watch the classes in the Bray Arena. Tammy is this year's Region Two steering committee chairman.

Reiners rule in the Coliseum all day Friday, and into the evening hours.

Sadie Church hauled Ima Leggs Girl from Columbus, Montana, to show at the Region Two.Terry and Leslie Olson and friend Linda Bossell of Helena, Montana, chill out waiting for their time to show.
Gene Graves of Grand Island, Nebraska, helps to hand out awards - this small fry exhibitor won a giant coloring book.Waiting to go: Andrea Huffman rode JC Double Ellezipped in the first time amateur trail.
