In his first year of showing and his second AQHA show, Daniel R. Chicola is a world champion.
The Select exhibitor from Coushatta, Louisiana, bought CRS Gold Nugget as a weanling.
“We fitted him up till he was about a year and then decided to go out and get an answer and see if he’s as good as we thought he’d be,” Daniel said. “We sent him over to Tim Finkenbinder and they started fitting him.”
In February, the 2005 chestnut by Mr Yella Fella and out of Phenomenal Music by The Phenomenal went to his first show.
“He was grand under all the judges, and here I am at the Bayer Select,” Daniel said. “It’s (going to be) a long way from here to the bottom.”
Daniel is convinced of the value of the CRS Gold Nugget’s breeding.
“I have a half-brother to him that was reserve world champion at the Dun World,” Daniel said. “I’ve got two half-brothers by Mr Yella Fella that have been good to me this year.”
