The third time is the charm for Kerry Papendick and Must Be A Detail. Although Kerry has never shown at the Bayer Select World Championship Show before this year, winning hunter under saddle is her third title. Kerry’s other two 2007 Bayer Select World championships were in western riding with Harley D Zip and 3-year-old mares with CRL Shesa Cool Coosa.
“Oh my gosh! We are so blessed,” Kerry said.
“This is like a dream come true. I won’t believe it until I’m halfway across the states heading back home to South Dakota.”
Must Be A Detail is also ridden by Kerry’s daughter, Kristina, in youth hunter under saddle. Kristina and Must Be A Detail won the 2006 AQHA youth world championship title in hunter under saddle. Next year he will probably be shown in amateur classes.
“He just babysits me to win. He’s very smooth at the trot, and his canter is like a pleasure horse lope. So, he’s wonderful,” Kerry said about her gelding.
Beth Case of High Point Performance horses helped Kerry get Must Be A Detail into show-shape.
“She’s one of the best,” Kerry said.
“This one is just as special as the win on Harley D Zip,” Kerry said, referring to her western riding championship win. “It’s just as special.”
