Two days equaled two wins for Sarah Smith.

Sarah followed up a win Tuesday in the 2-year-old geldings with a win in the 3-year-old geldings Wednesday at the Bayer Select World Championship Show.

“This has been an incredible year for me, just incredible,” she said.

She showed her grandson’s horse JMK Dynamic Fella, a 2003 bay gelding by Mr Yella Fella and out of Dynastys Rose by A Dynasty, for the second year.

“JMK Dynamic Fella won this last year as a 2-year-old,” Sarah said. “He won the Youth World this year with my grandson, Cooper Smith. And we won it again today. A great gelding. He’s a great horse.”

Sarah gets some help from her son, trainer Jason Smith, and his wife, Julie, as well as her sister and the rest of her family.

JMK Dynamic Fella has a busy schedule ahead of him.

“We’re going to show him at the Congress,” Sarah said, “and my daughter-in-law Julie will show him at the World Show, and Jason will show him in the open at the World Show. He’s got a lot more to do.”

Next year’s schedule doesn’t look any easier.

“I think this next year, we’re going to let Cooper’s little sister, Cheyenne, show him because he has matured and is real easy to show,” Sarah said. “She’s going to bust out and be our little showman.”

Sarah said she is learning more about showing, too. While in the ring, she concentrates on doing her best.

“You have to get him shown so the judges can judge him,” she said. “I’m really not worried about what else is in the pen, just what I’m doing and try to get it done right. The more I show the easier it becomes, but it’s still a challenge to get out there and get him set up and shown the way they need to be shown.”

The challenges of showing don’t daunt Sarah. She’s ready to come back to Amarillo next year.

“Yes, ma’am, I’ll be back,” she said. “I may have different horses, I may have the same, but I will be back.”
