Charles Pircher saw a little bit of potential in Esharp.

That potential was realized again this year at the Bayer Select World Championship Show when Esharp won aged geldings, a class of 18.

The 2002 sorrel gelding by Mr Elusive and out of Icons Cookies N Te by Sacred Icon was the 2005 Bayer Select World champion 3-year-old.

“I traded another gelding for this one,” Charles said. “People had kind of given up on him, and we thought he had a little potential. It was good.”

Esharp has rewarded that trust in other ways, too.

“He won the World Show (in 2005) in open, and our son was reserve at Youth World, so he’s been a good horse,” Charles said. “We didn’t show him too hard this year.”

Next up for Esharp is a trip to the All American Quarter Horse Congress, followed by a trip to the AQHA World Championship Show, where he will be shown in FedEx Open classes.

“He’s just real good,” Charles said. “He’s easy to show.”

“Good-natured,” chimed in Jeannie Pircher, who co-owns the horse with her husband.
