Each year, thousands of women are diagnosed with some form of cancer and happily most overcome their challenge. Each year, thousands of our equine counterparts also are diagnosed with a disease or incur injury. For many of those horses, a cure is already available thanks to the many worthy research projects funded by the American Quarter Horse Foundation.
This year, the World Show wants to bring awareness about research, patient care and preventative measures that are working for a cure for women and the horses they love.
Saddle Up for the Cure is a day-long celebration of life and hope at the World Show. On Saturday, November 17, exhibitors, owners and spectators are encouraged to wear pink. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the OU Cancer Institute and the American Quarter Horse Foundation equine research fund.
Commemorative bracelets and t-shirts also will be available at Quarter Horse Outfitters and are additional ways to support this cause. You can also help by donating any amount you might want into our special pink buckets located throughout the World Show. Give us your spare change or whatever you want as a way to care for all women and the horses they love. During Saturday evening’s final performance, there will be a tribute to cancer survivors and horses.
IT'S TIME TO SADDLE UP FOR A CURE – for women and the horses they love! For more information, see the World Show program available at the show.
