Coolestshowgirlntown and Ted Turner Jr. won the 2-year-old mares class.
Betty Wells, Nancy Wells Barr and Brittney Barr presented the awards during the 2-year-old mares class. Each exhibitor gave Betty a big hug, and winning exhibitor Ted Turner Jr. offered a tribute to the Wells family during the in-arena interview. After the emotional moments in the ring, Coolestshowgirlntown's owner, Jimmy Cain, offered a few thoughts on his world championship and his mare's sire. Playgirls Reflection was the 1999 world champion in 3-year-old stallions.
Q: Congratulations. Jimmy: Thank you. I’d like to thank Terry Bradshaw for letting Ted show the horse. It’s great.
Q: What can you tell me about the mare? Jimmy: She’s by Playgirls Reflection, which I own, and a mare by River City Renegade.
Q: How long have you had her? Jimmy: We’ve had her about eight months.
Q: What did you like about her? Jimmy: She’s a beautiful mare.
Q: What’s next for her? Jimmy: I hope somebody wants her more than I do.
Q: What’s next for you? Jimmy: I guess our next show will be the Fort Worth Stock Show and the Houston Stock Show.
Fun Fact: Brittney Barr, Jerry Wells' granddaughter, threw the souvenir T-shirts into the crowd, showing a pretty good arm and getting them high into the stands.
