Invest In My Pizzazz landed his second world title in the hand of multiple world champion Ted Turner.

The sorrel stallion brought home his first gold trophy last year as a 2-year-old and caught the eye of his new owner, John Rose.

“I saw him at the World Show last year, and he reminded me so much of Mr Conclusion,” Rose said. "I knew I had to get him.”

Rose bought “Pizza Boy” right after the 2004 World Show and headed him toward the breeding barn. He bred more than 40 mares last year, including AQHA world champions and All American Quarter Horse Congress grand champions.

Rose just missed qualifying Pizza Boy in the amateur due to a thrown shoe right before a show, so he had to watch his trainer Turner show him in the open.

“The depth of the competition we had in that class was a little nerve racking,” he said. “It’s just hard to figure out what the judges are looking for. He has a little different look than what has been winning.”

Rose compares Pizza Boy’s unique look to Mr Conclusion, thanks to his pretty head and neck, and his size.

“We had a lot of people interested in him just from seeing the ads we put in the Journal. There were several who came to the World Show just to see him,” he said.

With two world titles under his belt, Rose wants to retire Pizza Boy from the show ring and start focusing on his offspring.

“I’d much rather have him in the breeding barn than in the show ring,” he said. “I’m looking forward to bringing his offspring back to the World Show in the amateur and the open competition.”
