She scored for the last time. Rita Crundwell, of Dixon, Illinois, led her 5-year-old sorrel mare, She Scores, to her last amateur world championship. Crundwell plans to retire the mare after the World Show.

The mare had an entire fan club present after the class to take a picture and celebrate her sixth AQHA world championship. She has been a mainstay in the World Show arena since she was a 2-year-old, but her trophy shelves are lined with not only world championship trophies. She also has multiple All American Quarter Horse Congress championships on her resume.

Crundwell and She Scores
make their final walk across
the World Show arena.
“This was pretty special to me, since it is my my last time to show her,” Crundwell said.

She Scores will have one more opportunity to spend time in the victory circle when she competes in the open aged mares division next week with Crundwell’s trainer, Ross Roark.

“She’s very correct and very pretty,” Crundwell said. “I just try to think about one class at a time, but I really hope she gets to win one more championship in the open.”

Crundwell plans to retire She Scores after the World Show, but she might have an opportunity to get her name in the championship spotlight in the future. The mare has produced two embryo fillies this year: one by Mr Yella Fella and the other by Coolest.
