Give CRL Shesa Cool Coosa a broom.

The 3-year-old mare won world championships this year at the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show, the Bayer Select World Championship Show and during Bank of America Amateur Week at the AQHA World Championship Show. Along the way, she dropped in at the All American Quarter Horse Congress to pick up youth, amateur and open titles.

On November 16, CRL Shesa Cool Coosa picked up the open 3-year-old mares during FedEx Open Week with trainer Wayne Halvorson at the lead.

“I think it’s probably one of what we call the cleanest sweeps of any,” Wayne said. “She’s a great mare. It’s all a tribute to her.”

On hand for the mare’s grand finale was breeder Cal Loree of Loree Quarter Horses in Canada, who flew to Oklahoma City to buy the mare during the weekend.

“We raised her, and then Jerry Wells bought her for a customer,” Cal said. “Then Wayne had a customer who bought her. We decided that she belonged at our place, and we’re gonna keep her there.”

Wayne and Cal are longtime business partners.

“Mr. Loree and I have been involved in the breeding program for years, and she’s a culmination of all our sires, and we’re just really proud to have her,” Wayne said.

CRL Shesa Cool Coosa is by Perpetualism and out of Coolcoosa by Coosa.

In addition to their involvement with Perpetualism, Wayne and Cal worked together to promote Coosa.

“The biggest thing we liked about him at that time was how pretty he was with that beautiful big head, and I kind of fell in love with him, and he turned out to be my favorite. The mother of this filly was my favorite filly.”

That filly has some big jobs ahead of her next year, starting with sharing her genetics.

“We are going to do some embryo transfers on her, and we’ll probably bring her back and show her at the World Show in aged mares next year,” Wayne said.
