 | | cutline here. | After winning the 3-year-old mares class this year at the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show and the Bayer Select World Championship Show, CRL Shesa Cool Coosa repeated her win at the AQHA World Championship Show with owner Lew Papendick finally taking the shank.
Lew’s wife, Kerry, led the mare at the Bayer Select World, whbile daughter Kristina led “J-Lo” at the Ford Youth World. “I’m happy that they showed her also, because our goal was really to try to get as many world championships on her as we could, and so I’m glad that they showed and were successful with her,” Lew said November 9. Lew is proud of the mare’s breeding. The chestnut mare is by Perpetualism and out of Coolcoosa by Coosa. “The breeding program was by Mr. Cal Loree out of Canada and Wayne Halvorson, and she’s really a culmination of their breeding program,” he said. “I think it’s a testament to the work that they have done. Just from her name you know she goes back to Coosa, Cool Skip and Perpetualism, and we’ve just been really happy to be part of her genetics and being able to show her at a prestigious show like this.” Lew said he gets a refresher from Wayne before he shows, and he appreciates the chance to experience what his daughters and wife do when they’re showing. “It felt great,” he said. In addition to J-Lo’s three world championships with the Papendick family, she has an open world championship in 2-year-old mares. She shows next week in open 3-year-old mares with Wayne leading her.
