 | | Bob Lines of Indiantown, Florida, sets up Photons Classic CD to win the first ever AQHA World Show Championship in amateur performance halter mares. | Photons Classic CD and Bob Lines of Indiantown, Florida, earned the first ever AQHA World Championship in amateur performance halter mares.
The 2001 gray mare, by Photon out of Cool Diversion by Diversified, competed in amateur heeling preliminaries and then turned around to place 10th in the amateur heading finals. “Every one of those (Photon) mares is just awesome,” Bob said. “We use them on the ranch doing work all the time. They’re easy to get along with and they don’t ever give you any trouble.” He continued, “She’s a great mare and it would be hard to part with her. I’d like to breed her this year, so we’ll probably do that.” Raised and trained by Jay Holmes, Bob said Photons Classic CD is a hard worker. “She just tries all the time for you. If we’re riding pairs, or in the rope pen, she’s the same every day.” Bob said the performance halter class is a lot of work. But he is looking forward to showing his other Photon horse in performance halter geldings on November 9. “We have a gelding coming tomorrow that’s also a Photon. The gelding is actually a little better than her I think,” he said. Photons All Around is a 1997 gray gelding out of Paloma Ina by Skippy Crew. Bob looked at his mare again and said, “This is a total shock to me. I didn’t plan this even a little bit. I thought I’d get out there and get me maybe a fifth or sixth and be happy.” He continued, “To be at the front end of this is just shocking. It is truly something.” Horse: Photons Classic CD Pedigree: 2001 gray mare, Photon x Cool Diversion by Diversified Exhibitor/Owner: Bob Lines, Indiantown, Florida Breeder: Triple J Ranch, Sarasota, Florida
