Josh Weakly of Shelbyville, Illinois, led his gelding One Silent Kopy out of the 2007 AQHA World Championship Show arena on November 9 with the world championship in amateur yearling geldings. It was their first world championship - they were first on four judges' cards. “I’ve waited a long time for this,” Josh said. “We’ve worked really hard. I had a lot of help. It’s really been a special trip for us. “My family has been very supportive,” he continued. “I’ve got a couple of great horse trainers, Andy and Kendall Staton, (AQHA Pro Horseman) Luke Castle has helped a lot. “I’m very appreciative.” Josh bought the horse at the end of June this year and got him qualified. The gelding is a Florida-bred horse by One Silent Clu and out of Ima Cool Baby Doll by Ima Cool Skip. “He really has been a nice horse to work with,” Josh said. “He’s good to show; he’s been an exciting horse to have. “When we first saw him he just had that presence about him – he looked really good. He looked like a horse with a future, and we were really excited to find him and get him to Andy and Kendall’s program.” Josh is a farm equipment dealer and has shown horses for about 10 years now. “This has been a long time coming, and I’m very thankful,” he said.
