JUNIOR HEADING

PROBABLY SO, RIGHT PROBABLY KNOT GOES HOME WITH GOLD.

BY MEGAN BROWNELL, JOURNAL INTERN

Right Probably Knot helps Brad Lund rope a championship in junior heading on November 17.
Her first time to the AQHA World Championship Show and Right Probably Knot went home with a championship in junior heading.

Ridden by Brad Lund of Nowata, Oklahoma, and owned by Jim and Michele Holland of Bucyrus, Kansas, “Lilly” is a 5-year-old bay mare.

She is by the 2005 Sooner Trailer Superhorse, With All Probability, and out of Queen Lori Lynn by Goldseeker King Bo. Jim and Michele purchased With All Probability in 2001.

“Our goal in our breeding program is to get out and show them,” Jim said. “This mare is the first one we’ve really been able to do that with.”

The Van Deist family of Nowata, Oklahoma, raised and trained Lilly. Jim and Michele bought her more than a year ago and have enjoyed Lilly ever since.

Michele said their son, J.D., flew home to play in his high school football game playoffs a couple days ago. With a win on the field, J.D. and his family flew back to Oklahoma City to watch Lilly compete in roping.

“J.D. qualified showed her at the Youth World this year in heading. They didn’t place but he showed her!” Jim said.

“She’s real quiet in the box and fun to be around,” Jim said. “One of her greatnesses is that she can be shown in the open, and I can show her in the amateur and that just says a lot about her breeding and her character.”

Jim and Michele plan to keep showing Lilly.

“Next year we’ll bring her back in the heeling hopefully,” Jim said, “and my son will show her at (the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show) so she has a busy future.”
