BY MEGAN BROWNELL, JOURNAL INTERN | | Zee Yellow Jacket trots into win junior hunter under saddle with Beth Case aboard on November 16. |
Zee Yellow Jacket won junior hunter under saddle at the 2007 AQHA World Championship Show. Ridden by Professional Horseman Beth Case of Aubrey, Texas, “Jack” is owned by Chris Lagerblade of Aubrey, Texas. Tony and Barbara Ziehler of Tucson, Arizona, bred Jack. The 2004 palomino stallion is by Coats N Tails and out of Lil Miss Smokey by Smokeys Gray. Jack won the hunter under saddle futurity with Beth aboard in the open division at the 2007 All American Quarter Horse Congress. “He moves naturally, and as seen today, other people thought the same thing,” Chris said. She fell in love with Jack the first time she saw him as a colt and knew she had to have him. “I’ve owned him since he was a baby and he’s just like a big dog,” she said smiling. “He did a great job and Beth has done a great job training him,” Chris continued, “He’s very strong. All his impulsion comes from his hindquarters.” Chris shared that Jack has a special stall at home. Especially built so he can hang his head out at all times, his stall is in the midst of the preparation area with views of the foal pasture and mares. “He’s a very sociable horse,” Chris said. Jack will add driving to his show career next year and has already begun training for western classes. “Hopefully he’ll be just as successful in those events,” Chris said.
