2008 AQHA YOUTH WORLD CUP

GET READY. GET SET. SHOW!

Finally! It's time to show. The Youth World Cup participants arrived early to start warming up their horses and prepare for the day's seven classes: showmanship, hunter under saddle, hunt seat equitation, western pleasure, horsemanship, western riding and trail. It was a full day of showing with the final awards finally being handed out after 8 p.m.

Colorado State University associate equine professor Dave Denniston has been helping with the Youth World Cup and the Team Dominican Republic.

Gilles Seguin of Clarence Creek, Ontario, helped with announcing duties at the show. Gilles speaks nine language.

Paige Carter-Fleetwood helped carry out the flags for the winning teams.

Team Germany's Carolin Lenz gives Mr Goodwill a pat on the neck after his ride in hunter under saddle.

Riders used an alleyway to enter the arena from the barn.
There were 46 riders in hunter under saddle, which had three splits..

Steve Ouellet of Team Italy and Kemereys Sparkle perform in showmanship.

Team Canada's McKenzie Harvey and Docs Daring Me perform in western riding.

Team Dominican Republic coach Hector Luis LaHoz and member Luis LaHoz were excited about Luis placing 10th under one judge in trail.

A crowd lines the rail in the Agriplex arena to watch western riding.

Team Belgium's Koen Daemen helped out announcer Justin Woodley by pronouncing Jessica Vangenechten's last name during the trail results. Justin said he had been butchering Jessica's name all day and needed some help.

Steve and Mary Ann Velluto drove from of Redding Connecticutt, to watch their horses, Chipped Assets and Rolling M Will in the AQHA Youth World Cup. They donated the horses for the show and were drawn by Team Czech Republic and Team Austria.
