| Taylor Meyer will have her Youth World Show debut on Saturday, August 11. |
Though she has qualified for the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show in previous years, she has not been able to show because of her age. “I have wanted to show since I was 3, and I have always hoped to show here,” said Taylor Meyer, 9, of Gramercy Louisiana.
“I have been waiting my whole life to come to the Youth World Show, and I’m excited that I will finally get to show,” Taylor said. This year Taylor will show her gelding Phenomenal Proof, aka “Scooter,” in aged geldings and her mare Sheza Cool Successor, aka “Tinkerbelle,” in aged mares.
Taylor has been showing halter horses since the early age of 5, and it is clear that she has loved every minute of it.
“It’s really cool if you get first place and you are really happy, but even if you lose, you still have your horses,” she said. “My horses are usually very good when I show them, but they are only used to standing for about five minutes. They are going to have to stand for about an hour here, but I still think they will be good,” she added.
“It’s OK if you win or lose, but if you lose don’t get mad because your horse will still love you,” advised Taylor to all halter exhibitors.
When she is not showing, Taylor enjoys being with her friends and her sister, and she also loves to dance.
