The 2019 American Quarter Horse Association Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championships will be held in Amarillo in conjunction with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association World Championship, October 16-19 at the Amarillo National Center.

The qualification period for the AQHA CMS World is the same as the CMSA World, which ends the weekend prior (October 12-13) to the CMSA World Championship.

Exhibitors at the 2019 AQHA CMS World will compete in these divisions:

  • Youth

  • Limited youth

  • Select

  • Amateur

  • Limited amateur

  • Open

AQHA recognizes the top AQHA cowboy mounted shooting competitors in conjunction with the CMSA World each year. Exhibitors race against the clock as they run horseback through a pattern of 10 balloons and at least one barrel. The competitor to complete the pattern with the fastest time and most balloons shot takes home the AQHA world champion title.
