2022 AQHA Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeders

Burnett Ranches LLC is named the 2022 Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeder of the Year.

The American Quarter Horse Association recognizes Burnett Ranches LLC of Guthrie, Texas, as the 2022 Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeder of the Year.

AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder Burnett Ranches LLC bred earners of $14,721.50 in 2022. In recognition of the achievement, Burnett Ranches LLC received a certificate for a Don Rich Saddlery saddle.

Burnett Ranches LLC’s leading earner of the year was Sixes Tipi, who earned $5,600 in the 2022 AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges. The 5-year-old blue roan mare is by Bet Hesa Cat and out of Six Flo Jessie by American Quarter Horse Hall of Famer Mr Jess Perry.

The second-place Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeder was awarded to the horses bred by Circle C Ranch Co. of Wayne, Oklahoma, earning 13,369.75; and third went to horses bred by Center Ranch of Centerville, Texas, earning $11,939.75. Finishing fourth was Wagonhound Land & Livestock LLC of Douglas, Wyoming. Wagonhound’s horses picked up $6,947.50. Fifth among the leaders was Cowan Select Horses LLC of Havre, Montana, whose horses earned $6,350. 

Ranching Heritage-bred horses are versatile, sound and willing American Quarter Horses able to perform well at a variety of tasks. These horses are produced by AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeders, which are working cattle ranches that have produced horses for at least a decade for use on the ranch. 

The AQHA Ranching Heritage program recognizes these horses and provides them a showcase with the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges, as well as Top Ranching Heritage-Bred Horse recognition at various national events. Anyone can purchase and show an AQHA Ranching Heritage-bred horse.
