The brown gelding Eyez On Corona had everyone's attention as he romped to the lead and prevailed by a half length in teh $52,454 Adequan Grants Pass Derby Challenge on July 5.
Eyez On Corona races for Alberto Renteria, and under the guidance of Jaime Lopez he broke fifth, and surged to the lead mid-stretch of the 400-yard race. He finished in :19.423 to earn an impressive 106 speed index.
Mysterious Cartel was second, followed by Tempting Look, Lee Five T, Bee A Tempting Queen, Soy Catalina, Hunny Moon, Mr Royal Cartel, Coming At Ya and La Peralta.
Traiend by Hector Magallanes, Eyez On Corona has now won or placed in three of his four starts this year and earned $25,938. His career record stands at four wins from 10 starts and earnings of $48,198.
Bred by Ruben Magallanes, the gelding is by The Cartel Hawk and out of the FDD Dynasty mare Angel Eyez.
