Allocate Your Assets
Allocate Your Assets

Known as “Al” by his fans, Allocate Your Assets joins his great-great-grandsire Zippo Pine Bar in the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame.
Bred by Julie Feld of Morrison, Colorado, the bay stallion by Protect Your Assets was foaled in January 2000 out of the Thoroughbred mare Kat Sass.
Growing into a 16.2-hand, four-time All American Quarter Horse Congress champion and AQHA reserve world champion, Allocate Your Assets was acquired as a 2-year-old by Kathy and Gerard Tobin of Scottsdale, Arizona.
First topping the chart as the AQHA QData leading English all-around sire in 2017, Allocate Your Assets has sired more than 50 AQHA world and reserve world champions in open, youth and amateur competition, and numerous AQHA and National Snaffle Bit Association high-point title-earners in hunter under saddle, over fences, English all-around, pleasure driving and western riding in open, non-pro, amateur and youth classes.
A 2025 inductee into the NSBA Hall of Fame, Allocate Your Assets has sired foals that have compiled total earnings of more than $1.7 million. His progeny have earned more than 28,000 AQHA points, including more than 80 Superior awards and 400 Registers of Merit.
“Al had the ‘wow’ factor,” Kathy says. “Al stamped his foals with great minds and movement that served several disciplines, from the under-saddle classes to over-fences classes, to the pleasure driving classes and even western riding classes. He has had world and reserve world champions in each of these classes in multiple breeds.”
The Tobins put Allocate Your Assets in the care of Jim and Deanna Searles, who trained and stood the stallion.
“We didn’t make Al,” Deanna says. “Al was one of the most natural, easiest horses we ever had, who could jog, long trot, lope slow and change leads beautifully. He taught us how to maintain a great horse and a natural talent. He just did it and passed it on to his foals.”
“He set the bar for more than just a sire,” Jim adds. “He set the bar for the quality of movement and mentality we want. His foals give you 110 percent, and they taught us we didn’t have to try to make them better.”
Allocate Your Assets died in November 2023 and was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2025.
