That’s a wrap on the 2022 Nutrena AQHA West Level 1 Championships! AQHA exhibitors from 28 states and three Canadian provinces competed for championship titles at the Nutrena AQHA West Level 1 Championships, which were held May 18-22 in conjunction with the Arizona Quarter Horse Association’s Pinnacle Circuit at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Over 450 exhibitors and nearly 500 horses competed in western, English and halter classes, totaling 2,526 entries. AQHA also welcomed 240 first-time Level 1 Championships exhibitors. Competitors vied for top honors across a full slate of Level 1, Rookie and walk-trot classes, and more than $100,000 in purse and prizes. AQHA also presented the top end-of-show awards to the all-around and high-point award winners. Read more about the all-around and high-point winners. Exhibitors placing top 15 in the core Level 1 classes also earned invitations to compete in the inaugural Champion of Champions at their respective world shows.

During the show, AQHA Professional Horsemen volunteered their time to give 10 free Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by Nutrena. These clinics gave exhibitors and spectators the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a specific class or pattern in Level 1 competition. Thanks to the generosity of the Ride the Pattern clinics attendees, the Professional Horsemen Endowment Fund raised nearly $1,500 in donations.
