Many thanks go out to the 3,146 American Quarter Horse Association members who completed the AQHA Membership Survey online. The responses have been compiled into a summary report, and we would like to share the results with the membership.
The survey, which was offered to all AQHA members in the United States, covered member involvement with horses, member services offered by AQHA, purchasing habits and brand preferences. The survey also collected important demographic data.
A separate version of the survey for international and Canadian members was released in a second phase.
“A goal of this survey is to better understand how to serve our members and to learn more about them so we can continue to develop programs and services to meet their needs,” said Karl Stressman, AQHA Chief Executive Officer.
The results of the AQHA Membership Survey provided valuable insight into the AQHA membership. With an average age of 56, AQHA members own or lease an average of 653 acres, and own or lease an average of 2.7 trucks or SUVs per household.
Our members share a passion for The American Quarter Horse; 97% of AQHA members own a horse, 88% of members have been involved with horses for over 20 years, and 15% spend more than 30 days or more a year involved in AQHA events.
“Again, thanks to everyone who participated in this important survey,” Stressman said. “We are excited to share this summary data with you and use the data for the betterment of your Association.”
