The American Quarter Horse Association wrapped up the final installment of the 2021 AQHA Regional Championships series on September 19. Regions 1, 2, 5 and 6 hosted AQHA Regional Championships this year.

Region 5 kicked off the first of the shows on June 23 at Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, New Jersey. Region 6 was held at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts, July 13-18, followed by the Region 1 show July 21-22 at the Tanana Valley State Fairground in Fairbanks, Alaska, held for the first time in that area. Region 2, hosted September 15-19 at the Central States Fair Grounds in Rapid City, South Dakota, concluded the regional championships for 2021.

The AQHA Regional Championships would not be possible without the help of AQHA’s corporate partners. AQHA sponsors a full array of champion buckles for Regional Championship class winners in Level 1 competition. Adequan®, the official joint therapy of AQHA, also generously provides champion buckles for regional Level 2 class winners.

About AQHA Regional Championships

In 2005, AQHA first held its AQHA Regional Experiences as collective efforts with the affiliates. The events were yearly gatherings for AQHA's 11 regions and offered clinics, demonstrations and horse shows. In 2010, the events evolved from the Regional Experiences to Regional Championships and continue to this day. The AQHA Regional Championships provide American Quarter Horse enthusiasts a chance to test their horse-showing skills. Exhibitors from every region are invited to attend a regional championships of their choice, but an exhibitor may only compete at one regional championships per year.
