Following is a recap of all official American Quarter Horse stakes for the week of August 3-4. For recaps of graded stakes, Bank of America Racing Challenge stakes and trials, and stakes with purses of $100,000 or more, see the individual recaps in the Racing News section. This page will be updated throughout the week.

Ajax Downs
On Sunday, the field was set for the August 25, $50,000-added Ontario Sires' Futurity (R).

Fireball X15, a homebred Star Fire Dash gelding owned by Belinda Taggart, set the fastest qualifying time with his half-length victory in the second of two trials. Ridden by Shanley Jackson for trainer Jason Pascoe, Fireball X15 covered 330 yards in :17.390.

Fireball X15 is out of Dazzlin Lady, an 8-year-old daughter of Stel Corona.

Wyoming Downs
CD Proud Flyin D Kas broke her maiden in Saturday's $23,500 K.C. Carden Wyoming-Bred Derby (R).

Prepped by Diana Garfias for owners Daniel J. and Carol L. Lee, CD Proud Flyin D Kas went 350 yards in :17.571 while defeating VVR Im Special Now by three-quarters of a length. Tyson Lusk rode the sorrel daughter of the Tres Seis stallion View Me Flying.

CD Proud Flyin D Kas was bred by Jeff and Leslie Makovy. Campaigned exclusively in Wyoming, the filly has won one of nine starts and has banked $15,705.

VVR No Refunds, CD Okie Dokiey Proud, My Illusive Secret, A Dash Of Dynasty, VVR Dont Sugarcoatit, CD Tequila Sunrise, and RG Double Trouble completed the order of finish.

Also on Saturday, Renegade Racing's BP Fling Your Paint set the fastest qualifying time to the August 18, $10,000 Wyoming Downs Renegade Sports Derby.

Prepped by Josh Taylor and ridden by Elliot Bachicha Jr., BP Fling Your Paint won the first of two 400-yard trials by a half of a length in :19.957. The Oklahoma-bred Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding was winning for the fourth time in 14 starts and increasing his earnings to $34,024.

Valiant Virgo, a gelded son of Valiant Hero campaigned by Kelly and Kyle A. Cook, is the fastest qualifier to the August 18, $10,000-added Wyoming Downs Futurity.

Racing in the second of four 350-yard trials on Sunday, Valiant Virgo defeated second-fastest qualifier BP Southern Suzie by a neck in :17.619. Oscar Cervantes rode Valiant Virgo for trainer Jay Pitcher.

Valiant Virgo was bred in Oklahoma by Bollenbach Farms LP. The gelding has won one of five outs and has banked $6,369.
