Danjer, a 4-year-old gelding by champion FDD Dynasty, broke Canterbury Park's 440-yard track record in Tuesday's $62,739 Bank of America Canterbury Park Championship Challenge (G3).

Racing for Downtime Enterprises LLC, Billy G. Smith, and trainer Dean Frey, Danjer defeated Eagles Fly Higher by a neck in :21.062, breaking the previous track record of :21.162 set by Jess A Runner on July 24, 2011. Cody Smith rode the homebred gelding, who was aided by a reported 18-mph tail wind.

Danjer was bred in Oklahoma. The gelding has won eight of 16 races, including the 2018 All American Juvenile Stakes and last year's First Down Dash Stakes -- both at Ruidoso Downs -- and he has banked $562,706.

In addition to earning his first graded stakes win, Danjer landed a berth in the October 24, $250,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Albuquerque Downs.

Three Olives N Smoke ran third, 2 1/2 lengths behind Danjer, and was followed DF Lord Garvan, Damn Strait, Heza Blues Man, Kowboy Jim, Pyc Jess Bite Mydust, Jess JJ Watt AW, and Uncurled Fist.
