Making the second start of his 6-year-old season, Shannon Fisher's SF Hot Pass on Saturday set the fastest qualifying time to the May 11, $50,000-added Bank of America Sam Houston Challenge at Sam Houston Race Park.

SF Hot Pass won the second of two 440-yard trials by a neck in :21.891 while racing against a reported 8-mph head wind. Francisco Calderon rode the son of Ivory James for trainer Leon Bard.
