The Valiant Hero gelding High Valor has been named the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association/AQHA/Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Horses of the Year .

This 10-year-old unraced gelding is owned and ridden by Dona Kay Rule, and was bred by Lana Merrick-Bailey of Norman, Oklahoma.

He is sired by leading sire Valiant Hero, a syndicated son of First Down Dash who stands at Lazy E Ranch at Guthrie, Oklahoma.

His dam is the Rare Form mare Rare High, a Grade 2-competitor who earned $30,381 on the racetrack and has produced race earners of more than $63,000 on the racetrack.  She is a half sister to Grade 2 winner Crater Lake ($171,216).

High Valor was unstarted on the racetrack, but this year they finished the rodeo season with earnings of $96,507.
