Billys Cool Cat

Accomplished reined cow horse competitor Billys Cool Cat passed away November 29, 2021. 

The 2003 sorrel gelding was bred by Jerry E. Nye of Bend, Oregon. The horse was sired by leading sire High Brow Cat and out of the CD Olena mare NQH Lucy Lena. 

High Brow Cat has sired the earners of more than 10,700 AQHA points, as well as more than $83.6 million in performance events. NQH Lucy Lena has produced the earners of more than $125,000. 

Billys Cool Cat was purchased by Billy Williams III as a 2-year-old, and was owned during his lifetime by Bar L Horses, Cable Creek Ranch LLC, Julie-Anne L. Ford and Patti L. Chiarelli. 

Patti, based in Simi Valley, California, owned the gelding since 2015. 

Billys Cool Cat earned 18 AQHA points, and earned his open performance register of merit in 2011. 

In his career, he earned $101,360 in National Reined Cow Horse Association competition. 

In 2006, he was Top 10 in the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity with trainer Todd Bergen.
