Stakes winners High Rolling Seize, Paint Your Legacy, and Mr Michel are among the 33 state-bred 3-year-olds entered in Thursday's 400-yard Blue River Derby (R) trials at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

A homebred son of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon stallion Seize The Win racing for Glenn L. Graff, High Rolling Seize has earned $184,602 from 10 starts, and his four wins include a three-quarter length victory in last year's 350-yard, $192,000 Indiana Stallion Futurity (R). The bay gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by Shanley Jackson for trainer Matt Frazier in the first of four trials.

Paint Your Legacy is trained by Anthony Cunningham for owner Duke Racing LLC. A homebred Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding, Paint Your Legacy placed first in last year's 300-yard, $132,000 Jaguar Rocket Futurity (R) for Indiana-bred juveniles.

Paint Your Legacy drew post 6 and will be ridden by Luz Martinez in the third heat.

The third trial also drew Mr Michel, a son of Kiss My Hocks who ended his 2-year-old season with a head score in the 350-yard, $198,000 Miss Roxie Little Futurity (R) for state-breds. The gelding is trained by Claudio Barraza for owner Alberto Valadez, who purchased Mr Michel for $17,500 at the QHRA of Indiana Speed Sale.

Mr Michel drew post 8 and will be ridden by Erik Esqueda.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 23, $100,000-added Blue River Derby final.
