Brindis Por Cayenne passed away September 30, announced Rising C Stallion Station on social media.
The 2003 sorrel stallion was bred by Leonelo Trevino and owned by K.C. Carden, and was by Toast To Dash and out of the Easily Smashed mare Cayenne Smash. In his amazing 44-race career, the stallion won nine starts and placed in 12 more. He earned $453,173 before he retired in 2010. Among his accomplishments were finishing third in the 2005 All American Futurity (G1), second in the Texas Classic Derby (G1), and lighting the board in the All American Derby (G1) and Texas Classic Futurity (G1). He won the 2007 Sunland Park Winter Derby (G2) and 2007 Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame Stakes (G3).
As a sire, Brindis Por Cayenne got the earners of more than $1.1 million, led by YO Morning Delite ($235,021).
"As hard as it was for us to let this amazing horse go, we know KC was waiting for his best pal to join him on the other side, and the thought of them being reunited brought a smile to all of our faces," Rising C Stallion Station said in their statement.
