Born in Moscow, Elena Eros started drawing horses when she was young. As a child she had her first riding experiences in “Trud” riding stables, where she observed some world famous Russian horsemen.
After studying under renowned Russian artists at Moscow State University of Design and Technology and at the Hungarian University of Art & Design in Budapest, where she accomplish her MA in Fashion Design, Eros was invited to teach in Moscow State University of Design & Technology in 1980.
Later, Eros returned to Budapest, and worked as a designer, trend coordinator and illustrator at the Hungarian Fashion Institute, Portrait Artist in Residence for the Hungarian Medical Society and a background painter for Pannonia Film Studios.
Eros moved to UK in 1996, and became a frequent visitor to Windsor Racecourse and numerous equine events with her sketch book and a camera. Eros was asked to paint Ascot Race Courses, and her popular “Hats” series became her signature paintings.
Eros came to the U.S. in 2006. After winning a competition for the American Artist magazine. She has been painting various equine subject matters and taking equine portrait commissions. She is a juried member of American Academy of Equine Art, Oil Painters of America & American Impressionist Society. Ms. Eros is a numerous art awards winner, she exhibits nationally and internationally. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections, and art galleries nationally and internationally. She currently lives and works in Arizona, where she enjoys painting horses.
