An American Quarter Horse Association employee tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; Nutrena Level 1 Championships; and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals at the OKC Fairgrounds. The individual is no longer in Oklahoma City and will not be returning. AQHA followed COVID-19 protocols to sanitize all the potentially exposed areas on the grounds. In addition, contact tracing has been completed, and the individuals who were potentially exposed have been notified.
“Our thoughts are with them during this time, and we hope for a quick recovery,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “AQHA show personnel are taking the necessary precautions to continue to host a safe event through tomorrow, including following the event health protocols and local mandates.”
View the event health protocols and additional COVID-19 resources. As a reminder, attendees are required to complete a COVID-19 Health Acknowledgement and Liability Waiver. By signing the waiver, attendees agree to adhere to the event health protocols, including wearing facial protection, and understand the potential risk of being exposed.
If you test positive for COVID-19 during the show, please contact show management immediately at 404-867-2058 or 614-207-3152.
It is imperative to recognize there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any setting where people are present.
