SFS Alice Strikes, a homebred daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess owned by Sunflower Stables LLC, heads a group of 14 Iowa-bred 3-year-olds entered in Saturday's 350-yard Cyclone Derby (R) trials at Prairie Meadows.
SFS Alice Strikes ended her 2-year-old season with a nose victory at odds of 13-1 in the September 25, $153,000 Jim Bader Futurity (R) for Iowa-breds. The filly has earned $89,727 from six races, of which $89,057 has been banked from four outs at Prairie Meadows.
SFS Alice Strikes drew post 3 and will be ridden by Cristian Esqueda for trainer Stacy Charette-Hill in the second of two trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 9, $70,000-est. Cyclone Derby final.
