Party Tyme Racing's B Second Cowboy is one of two dozen 3-year-olds entered in Friday's 400-yard Firecracker Derby (G3) at Delta Downs.

B Second Cowboy is a sorrel homebred son of Flying Cowboy 123 trained by Jose R. Espinosa. The gelding has banked $101,053 from four races in Louisiana and Oklahoma this season, and his three wins include a half-length victory in the 330-yard, $110,000 Old South Derby at Delta Downs on May 17.

B Second Cowboy drew post 7 and will be ridden by Sabino Reyes in the first of three trials.

Trainer Heath Taylor will send out two Firecracker Derby hopefuls, including Think Again Kev. A son of champion KVN Corona racing for Keith W. Nellesen, Think Again Kev has earned $104,721 from nine outs, and he qualified to last year's Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two-Million and Golden State Million futurities in California.

Think Again Kev drew post 3 and will be ridden by Arturo Alvarez in the second heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $75,000-added Firecracker Derby on July 5.
